Hello everyone i am a 1 season experienced snowboarder who has skateboarded their entire life! I fell in love with snowboarding and have used some gruesome rentals so im ready to step it up and get my own shiiiiznit. I really like the Burton Joystick 156 W but my ill lived experience has me second guessing if it will be too much for me??? I am going on a big trip to Colorado in early December so I dont want to fuck up and get the wrong board! Any suggestions would be great, I love the park it helps alot being used to everything from skateboarding BUT i am still learning how to ride fierce blue and black diamond as well.
So in closing would a 2012 Burton Joystick be too much for someone who does not have alot of prior riding experiences?

I wouldn’t say the Joystick will be too much for you.
As it is a freestyle focused board it does have a softer-ish flex anyway, which will help you progress really fast but at the same time you will be able to ride it quite a while because it is not a beginner’s board.
If you are keen on getting the Joystick you should just pull the trigger and keep looking forward to your next trip. It will be a blast!
