Back in the day Peter Bauer dominated the sport of snowboarding, becoming World Champion at the end of the eighties. Although Peter no longer competes on the world scene he is still a pivotal member of the world snowboard community. In 2005 Peter founded Amplid snowboards, a small core brand dedicated to creating the best snowboards in the world. Last month Peter was awarded the EuroSIMA Lifetime Achievement Award an award voted for by the EuroSIMA Mountain Division for his contribution to the development of the sport, business and culture of snowboarding in Europe. There’s no doubt that having decent graphics on a Snowboard is always a significant selling point; I don’t care how product driven you think you are, we all know that a pants board design will almost always put you off buying it! Every year board manufacturers change the graphics on their boards just like a football team changes its strip and every year we browse through the brand catalogues and websites looking for the slickest graphics, no doubt contemplating forgoing the right board length for the colour scheme that will match our jacket.
