Snowboard Review pulled together the YES 154, Signal Omni, Signal Park, Bataleon Evil Twin, Dinosaurs Will Die Maet, Artec Gabe Taylor and Rome Graft for the ultimate urban jib test. With rainbow rails, corrugated pipes and boxes a plenty the Snowboard Review crew hit the Milton Keynes Xscape for an intensive evening of jibbing and bonking (the snowboard variety).

YES. Snowboards are an absolute phenomenon! The fact that the YES 156.5 is the most visited review on Snowboard Review is testament to the guys behind the brand. When JP Solberg, Romain De Marchi and DCP found themselves left out in the cold by Burton, they grabbed the opportunity to work with Nidecker to create their own brand. YES. was born and the 2009/10 season has seen the guys release their first range of boards. Tom from Snowboard Review managed to grab an hour with founding member JP Solberg, to find out a bit more about YES. and the trials and tribulations of starting a brand from scratch.

Last weekend Snowboard Review’s resident forum guru and international man of mystery Zoryfl drove down to the Zugspitze Glacier with a car full of buddies for the annual Schneefest and a weekend of chilled shredding. We asked Zoryfl to write a couple of words about his weekend.

Mountains might be in short supply in England, but art is one thing that our little Island can do. Snowboard Review received an invite to the FBBB Board Art Showcase at the Reebok Lounge in Shoreditch London, to check out some of the pieces they’d commissioned to help raise money for their charity Snow-Camp which takes disadvantaged kids out to the mountains. We’d never turn down an invite to drink free beer so we donned our spray-on jeans and cycled our fixed gear bikes down to Shoreditch’s trendiest venue.
It’s fair to say that FBBB (For Boarders by Boarders) have been at the forefront of the British Snowboard scene for the last couple of years; their highly original blend of the UK’s Snowboarding, Skate, Music and Art cultures have bought something fresh to the UK scene. It’s no secret that the UK imports the majority of its Snowboarding brands from the States and Europe so it’s consequently very difficult for UK artists to contribute to the industry/sub-culture that they love. FBBB has given the aforementioned UK and European artists an outlet and allowed them to get their work recognised on a world stage. Recent showcases have included the London Ski & Snowboard Show and the London Freeze, in which they sat in the rain for the majority of the time.
